Our Mission:
The Sunday School Department strives to:
1. Be an example of true believers in word, manner of life, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith and in purity (1 Tim. 4:12).
2. Faithfully study the Word of God, and to seek Him for divine revelation through the power of His Holy Spirit concerning each lesson (II Tim. 2:18-19)
3. Immerse students in teaching about the Holy Trinity (God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) through each lesson (Matt. 28:19).
4. Share the Gospel truth of Jesus Christ with each student and to encourage and equip each student to study the Bible and share the goodness of Jesus Christ with others (II Tim. 2:2).
5. To empower students through the study of the Bible, to live obediently to the will of God so that they may live productive, prosperous and fulfilling lives (Matt. 28:20).
6. Disciple each student to maturity through exhortation by building relationships with each student and their families, remembering them in our prayers, and being available to them in their time of need.
7. To be lead by the Holy Spirit and open to share our life experiences in order to relate each Sunday School lesson to practical life experiences.
8. To serve the Lord in the ministry of Christian Education with a spirit of excellence, remembering that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil. 4:13).
What we do...
- Encourage members of BTV to regularly attend Sunday School.
- Periodically, fellowship with others (i.e., sick and disabled) as a
means of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
- Develop programs in celebration of Easter/Resurrection Day, Christmas,
Thanksgiving, Mother's Day and Father's Day
- Periodically organize youth activities.
- Create initiatives that will promote the growth of the Sunday School Dept.
- Fellowship with other members of the staff to build unity.
Our classes:
Preschool - ages 2 - 4
Early Elementary - ages 5 - 7
Primary - ages 8 - 10
Juniors - ages 11 - 12
Teens - ages 13 - 18
Young Adults - ages 18 - 30
Adults - ages 30 and up
