Minister Tawana E. Jones is a committed servant of the Lord God. She was born in Washington, DC to the late El Wilson and mother Dorothy Winston. She is one of five children. Minister Jones loves to serve the Lord with her whole heart.
In August 1983, while attending Maple Springs Baptist Church, Minister Jones accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She immediately became very active in the ministry, serving as a member of the Young Adult Choir, Sunday School and Vacation Bible Study teacher and on the staff of the church’s New Members Organization. Minister Jones grew in knowledge of and hunger for God’s word. Later, she was led by the Holy Spirit to join Beyond the Veil Worship Center (BTV). As a member at BTV she has served faithfully as a Deaconess, Usher, member of the Street Ministry, and Sunday school staff.
In March 2002, Minister Jones began working at the Thurgood Marshall Academy (TMA) Public Charter High School. While working at TMA, the Lord developed her love and gifting to work with youth. He also developed the gift of exhortation in Minister Jones, which was used to inspire the youth and assist them in overcoming challenging situations.
Minister Jones received her call to the Gospel Ministry in 1997, and acknowledged this call in August 2002. Shortly thereafter, she enrolled in Beyond the Veil Worship Center’s Ministerial Training Program. Minister Jones successfully completed the program, graduating in November 2003. In May 2005, she preached her initial sermon and was licensed as a Minister of Gospel by Pastor Wanda J. Sisco.
Minister Jones presently attends the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), where is working to complete her undergraduate degree in Social Work. She has also attended Maple Springs Bible College and Seminary and Strayer College.
Minister Jones true desire is to fulfill the purpose and plan of the Lord God for her life.
Minister Jones is a loving mother to two children: a son, Joe Nathan and a daughter, Jennifer Nicole. She seeks to live a holy life unto the Lord and daily to die daily to the things that are not pleasing to him.
